It's almost the end of the year for us jdrama viewing people here on LJ and with that in mind i decided to do the LJ Best of 2009 Jdrama Meme! In case anyone is wondering (or even if they remember), i did something similar for last year with Maou eventually coming out as the overall winner. Now it's the turn to find out which jdrama will be this year's winner! (I copied and pasted this from last year's post lol XD)

Yeah, i have no idea why i decided to do this. I randomly saw the lists when i was searching for the 'sex' issues of An-An and i found it quite interesting to see how favourites have changed over the years. Also, because i was a little bit O___o about the fact that Kimura pretty much jumped to number 1 in '94 and has been there ever since without fail. Crazy.

For the older years the pictures i've used are of the stars in recent years so we won't get to see just why they were big at the time. But for some of them i can sort of see why they were in the top ten and others... i have no idea. I guess they were big at the time?

The ranking for 2009 should be coming up i think so it'll be interesting to see how things change this year. Is there anyone you guys think will be moving up or going down?

I'll get round to the AnAn female star (and Shingo) diet photoshoots. I have... Fukada Kyoko, Fukiishi Kazue, Shinohara Ryoko, Kato Ai, Michiko Kichise and some others here and there. I should create that picspam comm really...

So, as we all know the Johnnys (ok let's make it KAT-TUN) fandom's been sent into a tailspin recently over Jin's 'naked/sex/body/porn/insert word here' An-An pics. Which is what happened when the Yamapi An-An pics came out last year. Which is also what happened when the Jun An-An pics came out the year before that. See a trend going on here?

Strange thing though here is, as well as seeing Jin get to 'grips' with his model we've got Osamu Mukai doing a similar shoot. While there was quite a buzz about it, it didn't extend to that of Jin's. Again, in 2008 Anna Tsuchiya also did a sex based photo shoot for An-An. No male model was used but it did involve Anna wearing lace, leather and lethal red lipstick. How come there were no multiple 'OMG!' posts about it - due to the fact she's a woman? Or because it wasn't a Johnny? And going back before that, 2007. Well known pitcher (and half Iranian dude who married that squeaky sounding Saeko) Darvish Yu ALSO did a sex based An-An photo shoot. There was no model involved here either but the focus here i believe was his sports honed body.

ANNNNND, if we want to go back further than that let's talk about Hiroki Narimiya (2005), Yonekura Ryoko (2004). Okada Junichi (2003), Shingo (2007/1999) and of course, Kimura's infamous shoot which (possibly) started it off in 1998. I say possibly because i haven't actually seen EVERY SINGLE An-An cover known to man which involved sex. Having said that, i've seen quite a few of them all say thanks to Google Images and they used either foreign models (HEY COUNTRY THAT LIKES AV, GRAVURE AND 12 YEAR OLD BIKINI PHOTOBOOKS, WHAT'S WRONG WITH JAPANESE MODELS?!) or cartoons. Seriously. Look it up, i dare you!

Going back to Kimura. Having looked around for his photoshoot and finding more and more pictures it slowly began to hit me. I'd seen these pictures before. Or should i say, i'd seen these pictures before recently. That's right. A lot of the stuff we see in Kimura's shoot is repeated in Jin's. And now before you start to bash me for being some sort of insane Kimura fangirl (I AM AND I'M NOT ASHAMED LOL), let me point out what i mean. With the use of pictures.

You know, i've still got numerous An-An female Japanese actresses show off their bodies all in the name of 'diets' pictures (FUKAKYON! SHINOHARA! THAT HOT LADY FROM BLOODY MONDAY!) and An-An's Top 10 male stars ranking stats from 1991 to today to put up. But that's for another day...

In other news, i am kinda sad the mods pulled down that crazy fanwar post at hydkorea. Man that show is great at pulling in the fanwank (which i adore lol).

Yes, i sort of know i was meant to have done this at the end of 2008/beginning of 2009 but i've been busy (sort of) and kept putting it off. But now i'm getting it done and here we are. Anyway. Just to give you guys an idea of how things panned out in the previous vote here are the results in table form.

So with those results in mind, i've created the ultimate LJ Best of 2008 Jdrama Meme. FINAL 12 poll to determine which one is the winner. Now some of you might say why not just use the results above? The reason is that people had to vote for 3 dramas PER SEASON, whereas this time round they will be voting for ONE DRAMA OVERALL.

And if there's a drama not on the list which was your personal favourite then i'm sorry but the majority of people on LJ didn't agree. But that's not to say that what you loved was bad. To each their own right? With this poll we can come up with what was the most POPULAR (not necessarily the BEST) jdrama for 2008.

What with this being the end of 2007 (wow has it gone quickly!) and there being a big boom in people on LJ watching jdramas i got curious as to which dramas were watched most and which were enjoyed overall. As an example, i really loved a few dramas earlier on in the year but for the Autumn season i've watched absolutely nothing even though i know there are some good dramas available. I thought i'd branch this out to people in the Jdrama fandom to see what dramas others enjoyed and came up with this!

Ok, so hopefully, this meme/mass poll will work like this. I've basically went to DramaWiki and found all the main dramas for all four season this year and put them into a table below (going downwards if anyone is wondering). This is just a little reminder because i'm sure we've all forgotten what we've seen this year (I know I have!) and it'll clear any doubts anyone might have. Now, some seasons have more dramas than others but that doesn't matter because remember, it's quality not quantity that counts!

Then there's the actual poll when i've asked for everyone's favourite and second favourite drama for each season. When the voting is over (i'm gonna give it until a week I think) i'll then put up another poll which will have the one number faves for each season battling it out to be crowned LJ's Best of 2007 Jdrama!

Hopefully this poll will get lots of people voting for their favourite dramas and i guess it's just a nice way to see what everyone enjoyed this year. Plus it might give some of us a chance to catch up on stuff we didn't get to watch. Please PIMP THIS OUT to your flists so the more people, the better idea we can get. I will, of course, be cross-posting this so apologies in advance!

Edit:I forgot Haken no Hinkaku and seeing as it was one of my two favourite dramas of that season i decided to redo the poll. And apparently LIFE was shown mainly throughout the summer so that's another thing i needed to fix. So yeah, that does mean all votes before have gone but i'm REALLY sorry about this - were i able to just change the poll i would have done but alas i can't. Hence me redoing the poll because i DO want proper accurate results for this. Again, apologies to all that voted before. I hope you have the time to do them again.
